HAXPES at SPring-8, Japan
Eunjin Koh and Nick Barrett completed a hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES) experiment at the BL09XU beamline of the SPring-8 synchrotron (Sayo, Japan). The beamtime was dedicated to investigating the effect of the HfO2/ZrO2 laminate interface on the oxygen vacancy concentration. Two laminate HZOs and one solid-solution HZO were manufactured by Athira Sunil and Ruben Alcala at NaMLab, Dresden. The intense and highly focused X-ray beam at the BL09XU beamline, combined with a wide angle analyzer, is expected to provide the spatial distribution of oxygen vacancy concentration across each interface. The experiment was successfully completed thanks to the help of Ibrahiba Gueye and the scientists of the BL09XU beamline.
This work was supported by the Ferro4EdgeAI project.
